DIY Coffee Table

I took a beautiful antique cast-iron garden urn and turned it into a chic one of a kind coffee table that would fit in nearly any decor--traditional, industrial, shabby chic, junk beautiful, urban chic, and more.

I've had this coffee table for 4 or 5 years now, recently I re-did the display inside.

I picked up this urn at a local auction.

I love the detail and all of the original patina!

All I did was top it with a $15.00 piece of glass from a furniture salvage store. . .otherwise glass this size and thickness with a bevel would cost well over $100.00.

I filled it with some--just some--of my collection of antique and vintage mother of pearl and bone buttons.

Then topped it off with assorted rhinestone jewelry. . .

. . .brooches. . .

. . .chandelier crystals. . .

. . .Victorian belt buckles. . .

. . .single earrings. . .

. . .anything that was silver or white and sparkled. . .

Here are some more photos:

I'll be back soon with more goodies!!!
