As my blog is titled "Shabby French Cottage" I feel it has been a while since I've done a true "Shabby French" Post! As a result of re-arranging from Christmas, I came up with this mostly white vignette!

| But look closer at the 'crowns'. In fact they are not crowns at all! |

| The 'crowns' came from the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. They were originally marked $0.10 (ten cents) each. When I went to pay--the cashier said she couldn't charge me for those--so she gave them to me! |

| What they actually are are vintage gutter guards to keep your downspouts from getting clogged up with leaves and other debris! When I got them, they had long spikey wire protruding from the bottom--I just broke those off and ended up with two beautiful FREE crowns! Originally I intended to add an an embellishment or finial of some sort to the top, but as of yet, that has not happened! |
